NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana — September 10, 2024 — City Trotter Guide (CTG), an emerging digital concierge companion for travelers and a day planner for city locals, is thrilled to announce its pilot partnership with Vibrant Emotional Health (Vibrant), the administrator of the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (988 Lifeline), which is funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). Through this partnership, we are collaborating to expand awareness of the 988 Lifeline, which provides non-judgmental support to people in emotional distress 24/7 via text, phone, and chat. City Trotter Guide has donated a portion of its digital real estate to feature the 988 Lifeline, visible in a select number of hotels across three cities during this trial period.
Founders Brittany Dottolo and Josh Werner initially created City Trotter Guide to support the travel and leisure industry, which also serves as a vital platform for local businesses seeking exposure and promotion. Brittany, with her background in hospitality and marketing, came up with the idea and was the driving force behind the concept. Josh, who brought his expertise from his role as a SaaS business co-founder, was a key player in enhancing the project with his technical and business acumen. Unlike traditional print magazines or travel websites, CTG leverages the use of the modern-day digital scape to offer a robust and streamlined trip planner that is easier to navigate than anything else previously seen on the market. Some of its features appealing to travelers and city locals include hidden gems, top attractions, unique photo spots, exclusive discounts, and more.
“We are deeply grateful for our partnership with City Trotter Guide,” said Dr. Tia Dole, Chief 988 Lifeline Officer of Vibrant Emotional Health. “When people travel to new places, it’s crucial that they know care and support are always within reach through the 988 Lifeline, no matter where they are. This partnership ensures that travelers are aware of this vital resource, providing reassurance and access to help when they need it most. It’s an important and much-needed collaboration that furthers our mission to make mental health support accessible to all.”
“I’ve always envisioned City Trotter Guide as a platform with a strong sense of social responsibility,” said Brittany Dottolo “Through my understanding of the mental health risks people face, I realized there was an opportunity to help at-risk travelers by partnering with Vibrant.”
In 2023, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported that the suicide rate among Americans had reached its highest level since 1941, with nearly 50,000 people dying by suicide, one death every 11 minutes.
Together, we will work to make a greater impact on mental health and save more lives.
